Precihole NP60 Draco is an entry level pistol for those who want to try their hand in pistol shooting. I purchased the gun in February and used it personally for a while to make sure the review is authentic. Read the details and Precihole NP60 review to understand if it was a good purchase or not. The review is based after shooting more than 3000 pellets in a 1 year time frame.
The reason for purchase
Let us start with the reasons to purchase NP60. My daughter is into pistol shooting sports. Therefore, it is obvious to buy a gun but it is not a match pistol. But it comes at a price just 5 percent of the actual match pistol. Little more than the dummy air pistol that we use for holding purposes. Therefore, at a limited price you are getting a pistol that shoots. Even if we don’t, we can use it for holding because it has similar weight as the real gun.
Overall Quality
The build quality at this price is decent. It is similar to their other pistol SP60 with only one difference. SP60 uses a break barrel spring piston based mechanism to load and cock the pellet. On the other hand, the NP60 uses a break barrel nitro piston based system. You can also adjust the site using a screwdriver.
Home Shooting Range, Accuracy
First of all, we created a small shooting practice area at home. Space where we could set up the target and use this gun. The accuracy of the gun is not consistent because of the jerk you get while shooting. It does have a rifle barrel but the shots are not consistent.
After some practice you can hit 7-10 in most shots but as I mentioned, the shots are consistent in the test.
Issues with NP60
After using 1500 pellets suddenly the pellet speed of pellets reduced drastically. When the pistol was new the pellet used to travel 12-15 meters with accuracy up to 8 meters. Now the pellet was not even reaching the target kept at 8 meters. At times, you could see the pellet falling down at 5 meters. The gun came with a 6 months warranty so the company agreed to replace the nitro piston.
If I had to pay, the price of the nitro piston is half the pistol price. It took almost a month for the repair and we got it back. It took almost a month for the repair and we got it back.
After the repair the speed increased but the accuracy decreased a little bit. However, we can still use it for holding purposes. We tried another 1500 pellets and the nitro piston worked fine. There is no rough but considering the issues, I do not think it will last long. Anyways, this is not a match pistol and we mostly use Steyr Pistol for practice or Morini 160EI, using it further was a waste of time.
Can you play match with NP60
The simple answer is “No” until it is a local match specifically designed for this one. The purpose of writing this Precihole NP60 Draco review is not to criticize the product but to give you a reason to buy or not to buy. To participate in the air pistol match, you need a PCP (pre charged pneumatic) pistol.
Precihole NP60 Review – Summary
Overall, if you are low on budget and want an air gun for target practice, you can buy NP60. The price of NP60 is also low. Due to this, we can say it is a good purchase.
In addition, you can use it for holding purposes because of the similar weight as the match pistol. But if you are serious about the sport and if you can afford, go for match air pistols that have ISSF pistol specifications. Because, if you buy a PCP pistol, you will spend more time with the weapon you are using in the event. This will give you an added advantage in comparison with any low cost air pistol available in the market.
